Clément Grenier and Rodrigo Battaglia preview the World Cup final
The duo looked ahead to this Sunday’s finale
Clément Grenier and Rodrigo Battaglia previewed the World Cup final ahead of this Sunday’s finale between France and Argentina.
Having both represented their respective nations at international level, the pair know better than most the demands that come with playing for your country.
"In France, the World Cup is very important,” Grenier told club media. “In 2018, we won it. Deschamps knows how to win and now there are a lot of young players. We hope to win this cup, but it is difficult because Argentina is a very difficult team. It will be a great final.
"Argentina is a compact team, very aggressive and Messi is the best player. It is his last World Cup and it is very important for him and for all Argentines.”
"We are a country that suffers a lot economically and socially, and I think people find a lot of joy in sports and even more in football,” Battaglia added. “We had Maradona and now we have Leo and I think the world can see how passionate we are about this sport.
"They are two teams with very good players and I think they both arrive very well. In Russia 2018 we lost to France, but I think they are different teams. Argentina has a totally renewed team and France as well. I expect it to be a competitive match."
