Luis García Plaza: ‘It was tough. It should have ended 0-0’

The boss reflected on our 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena

Luis García Plaza couldn’t hide his frustration as we suffered a 1-0 defeat at Real Sociedad courtesy of a 90th minute winner from Lobete. Find out what the boss had to say below about the game, his thoughts and where this leaves us.

On the match…

"I've seen many Real Sociedad games and today's game is the one in which they played the least amount of football, but that’s Real and they have a lot of quality. The game should have ended 0-0.”

"In the second half we dominated the game and came close, but we were weak in their area. We lacked long-range shots and should have been a bit more aggressive in attack.

"In the second half we went for the game, we had patience to move it from side to side, but then the light bulb [moment] has to turn on for someone and in this game it didn't turn on.”

On the sensations…

"The team needs to have more malice and determination in the area where we always win games.

"If we are able to maintain the impressions from today, the team will always compete.”
