Our academy side picked up another point on the road as RCD Mallorca B were held to a goalless draw against Valencia Mestalla.
The hosts started the stronger side and had a flurry chances during the opening exchanges as goalkeeper Pere Joan made a number of smart stops.
Joan’s most important stop came in the 30th minute when he produced a fine save to tip Hugo’s free-kick onto the post and keep the scoreline level come the break.
While we were unable to create any dangerous opportunities after the restart, we did manage to reduce Valencia’s chances to long-distance efforts that did not trouble Joan.
Neither side looked like breaking the deadlock come full time, and although the result still leaves us in the relegation zone, we have now picked up four points from a possible six in our last two games.
