Mallorca B earned promotion back to the Segunda B division on Sunday morning, just one year after leaving that very division. Javier Olaizola´s men, who lead the group, had been only two games away from sealing their objective. And, after tying in Zaragoza eight days prior, the spry and capable Mallorca B triumphed 2-0, in front of the local fans at the Son Biblioni complex on Sunday morning.
In the first half, Hugo Gómez opened the scoring. The Brazilian central defender was key during this riveting second-leg. And, in the final 45 minutes of play, Calderón sealed the result with an amazing goal that ignited the 1,000+ people in attendance.
Even though the Aragonian side endangered the Mallorcan defense with frequency, the locals were the true protagonists of this elimination bout, which resulted in the team´s most important triumph of the season thus far.
Afterwards, the festivities began when the players, coaching staff, and fans all showed their jubilance in returning to the league that the team belongs in.
