World Cup winner Lionel Scaloni visits RCD Mallorca
The Argentina manager and former player was in attendance for our win against Real Valladolid
Former RCD Mallorca and World Cup winning Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni was in attendance for our 1-0 win against Real Valladolid.
The Argentinean coach received a standing ovation from the fans and club president Andy Kohlberg and Business CEO Alfonso Díaz presented him with a shirt bearing his name.
"It's incredible that so much time has passed because it's been fifteen years since I played here. A club that gave me the chance to return to the Spanish League and to form the family I have today. I have an enormous appreciation for the club.
"The secret is to bet on the group, on work, on teamwork and on not giving anything up. I think these are marks that this national team has and that led us to conquer the world title because playing football, most of the teams are very good and we had to bet on something more than that.
"An intelligent team that knows what it is playing for and that is the most important thing in any team.
"In Mallorca you live well, it is very quiet and the people are very calm and respectful of others and the weather is logically very good. My wife, her family and children are from here.”
