Antonio Raíllo, Sergi Darder, Cyle Larin and Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media after our 1-0 win at Getafe as we ended our 2024 on a hige note. Find out what our players and the boss had to say below:
Antonio Raíllo:
On the victory and clean sheet: The truth is that it is nice and much more being a defense with a clean sheet. It's time to celebrate and enjoy with the family.
On defensive solidity: In the end, we know what Getafe is like, they are a very physical team that looks for disputes. We are two very uncomfortable teams with short results. We knew that whoever took the lead had many options to get the three points. We were able to hold on and suffer.
On 15 points away from home: The line between winning and losing is very fine. In the first division any little detail makes you take the game.
On the team: I leave that to you journalists and fans. We have to keep our feet on the ground and with a winning mentality. First we must achieve salvation and then grow.
Sergi Darder:
On the first half of the season: I think we have done a lot of work to be where we are. We came to one of the most difficult grounds in the league because it is very difficult to show off. The team has shown once again that it knows how to compete against anyone.
On taking the lead: If we had scored a goal it would have been very difficult to come back. I think the team competed very well, we did the job we had to do and we got the three points.
On the performance: It is very easy to say that we must be strong at home, which is the reality, but if we look at the calendar I think that the points we have earned are not bad. All the points we have earned are deserved and we must extend this streak. Now it's time to rest, which is necessary and deserved.
On personal feelings: I feel very well, more and more comfortable and confident. In every field you have to compete no matter how the rival plays and today I have done it. The confidence they are giving me is good and I hope to continue like this next year.
Jagoba Arrasate:
On the victory and a clean sheet: It's the best way to end the first half of the season on a high note, winning at a very difficult ground and reaching 30 points, which is great for us. We are looking forward to the vacations with great joy and we have to keep it up.
On competitiveness: On these pitches we have to put on our work overalls and know what is important and what is not. The team has worked very well and has been very united and compact. We took three very valuable points.
On getting ahead: On these pitches it is important to get ahead because it is easier to defend than to attack. With a defensive and choral work from everyone we managed to keep a clean sheet.
On six clean sheets: I think we are a team for better or worse. When we keep a clean sheet we are happy for the goalkeeper but also for everyone. The defensive numbers, apart from the Barcelona game, I think they are very good.
On having the same points home and away: I give it a lot of value. We finished the first round with 5 wins away from home. It is something to take into account. We like to play better at home but away the team is being solvent too. We have to keep it up.
On Cyle Larin and Greif: In the beginning of the game Dominik has helped us a lot, he has been decisive. And then Cyle is on a roll, he took the penalty and scored it. He is very confident and we have to take advantage of that.
Cyle Larin:
On assessment of the match: It's an important win for us and for the fans. It gives us a lot of confidence to have won such a tough and demanding game. It's a great win.
On personal feelings: I am working hard to get these goals and I am very happy. The team is helping me and I have to keep working to keep scoring goals.
On 30 points in the league: I think it's very good but we have more to achieve to keep growing as a team in the season.
On the break: We have to rest but we also have to prepare very well for the next thing.
