Carlos Domínguez returns to the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix

Our former striker reflected upon his first goal at the stadium

Former player Carlos Domínguez, better known as ‘Carlitos’, has returned to the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix to celebrate a milestone.

On the afternoon of 20 August 1999, our former striker scored the first goal at our stadium against Real Madrid and with us reacently reaching our 500th strike, he has been invited to relive that memorable moment.

During his visit, accompanied by friends such as ex-Bermellon players Fernando Varela and Alejandro Campano, Carlos had the opportunity to tour the renovated facilities of the stadium and meet with sporting director Pablo Ortells and CEO Alfonso Díaz.

"The memories are beautiful because all the time I've been here at Mallorca has been a success," said Carlitos. "The dressing room has changed, but I'm very happy that the shrine I put up when we opened the stadium is still there, it gives me great emotion to see it.

"The first goal was scored by me, a ball that was left dead from a rebound and I pushed it in. Those were great times, where there was a spectacular group of team-mates, and coaches of a very high level came. It was all ideal for good years."

As part of the tribute, the club presented him with a commemorative shirt with the number 8, the same one he wore when he wrote his name into our history.
