Dani Rodríguez, Samu Costa, Antonio Sánchez and Jagoba Arrasate analyse our 2-1 win at Real Betis

Find out what our players and the boss had to say about the result

Dani Rodríguez, Samu Costa, Antonio Sánchez and Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media after our dramatic 2-1 win against Real Betis. Find out what the trio and our boss had to say below:

Dani Rodríguez:

On the victory: It's a team and group victory. In the last three games we have played 19 or 20 different players and the truth is that it is a strength. We are a very competitive team whoever we play and today it was a stage that was costing us as a club. We hadn't won here for ten years and we were really looking forward to it.

On an away win: The coach's pre-match talk was very good. I think he gave us a little bit in our hearts and inside. The truth is that the team came out very focused. They are an opponent that subjugate you at times and make you suffer, but the team is very patient and hard-working. We had a lot of chances and at times we deserved to take the game.

On the goal: Getting back after their goal so quickly calms you down a bit after Betis' pressure. On an individual level I'm very happy.

Samu Costa:

On the match: We are very happy for the victory on a pitch like this. We believe in ourselves and that it's possible to win. In the second half we had a lot of the ball and the fans, whether they play 5 or 90 minutes, are committed and want to help.

On equalising: We didn't fall apart. Their goal was early and it was a great goal. We kept on going as if nothing had happened and focused on what we were doing. I'm very happy about Dani's goal and Cyle's assist.

On Jagoba's pre-match talk: The coach helps us and knows how to motivate us. In the end it's football, you have to enjoy it, it's a dream for many like this and for me there is no pressure. I'm happy on the pitch and so are my team-mates.

Antonio Sánchez:

On the three points: Winning in the last minute away from home is complicated and also on this pitch we hadn't won for a long time. We're very happy for everything; for the way it happened, for the team's reaction and for getting three points away from home, which is important.

On the team’s reaction: It was our challenge to go out away from home and try to play as similar as possible to the way we do at home. I think we did that today and in a very difficult situation with everything going against us with that goal.

On the right-back: It's complicated, I thought that after the Villarreal game I wouldn't suffer so much with anyone and today with Abde it was complicated. I had to work a lot, I have to be concentrated all the time and in communication with Martin and Raíllo. I'm happy because they help me to do well.

On his confidence: It strengthens me on a personal level, it gives me confidence and I'm happy that he values the work I do, because it's hard.

Jagoba Arrasate:

On Villamarín: It's a victory at a very difficult ground and against a great opponent. The team played a great game, although it's true that we were fortunate in the last action. I think today is a great day because it's not easy to win on these pitches.

On the game: In the end, when you try and when you are brave, one day it will come up heads and one day it will come up tails. Today we went all out in that last action and we found ourselves with Valery's goal that gave us the three points.

On the reaction: I think it was important to equalise in a row. That gave us a lot of confidence and I think that from then on we had some very good sequences. The team also showed personality and, as is normal on this pitch, we had moments where we had to suffer. If there's one thing this team has, it's hard work and suffering. The changes gave us energy and air too. It's a great victory.
