Dani Rodríguez, Samu Costa, Sergi Darder y Jagoba Arrasate valoran el partido ante el Betis

Find out what the players and the boss had to say about our loss

Dani Rodríguez, Samu Costa, Sergi Darder and Jagoba Arrasate were on post-match media duties after our 1-0 defeat to Real Betis. Find out what they had to say below:

Dani Rodríguez:

On the match: I think the team played a great match, with a lot of intensity, we hadn't seen this kind of performance from Mallorca for some days. We lacked accuracy but it was a match we deserved to win. The expulsion marked the end of the game and I was given a very clear penalty that I can't understand why they didn't whistle.

On the penalty: He told me that the VAR told him that it wasn't a penalty. There is something that escapes me and that I don't understand. He gives me up and down, I don't understand what else he has to do to call it.

Jagoba Arrasate:

On the match: I'm very disappointed, the team made a great effort to win. We were down to one goal again, which is very difficult and that goal in the 96th minute doesn't do justice to what we saw.

On the referee's decisions: I'm falling out of love with this sport, I don't know how many games we've played with ten or penalties that are given and then not in our favor. Thursday arrives and I don't care who is the referee, I am more aware of who is on the VAR.

On a step forward: When you don't have a reward it's complicated. Eleven for 11 we were better and even with 10. It's a hard blow, but we have to keep going.

Samu Costa:

On the match: Yes, it is a very hard and unfair defeat.

On the match: The red card, the penalty against Dani... we have to work and keep fighting against everything and everyone, that's how it is.

Sergi Darder:

On the match: Impotence is what I feel. Surely we have done things wrong but we have not been helped to win the match. We made a big team small and we were superior with 11 against 11. Dani complains a lot about a penalty at the end and it would be nice to give the referee the chance to see it as they did with the red card. They didn't let us win. Even so, we have had a very bad month of January and we have to recover the essence and this better image that we have given today.

On a step forward: When you've had the month you've had, it's difficult to come out here today and say that we're doing well. Even so, if we go by the first 60 minutes we were good and even with ten players we were not inferior. The team made the step forward and it wasn't enough, we'll have to make two. We were at 100% and it wasn't enough, we have to keep going.

On the performance: We are talking about a team prepared to play in Europe, but I think we stopped them very well. We had them in their field and they were not comfortable. We did some very good things, but the areas make the difference and today we were not as accurate as they were.

On the fans: It has been a long time since we played at home. The calendar has been tough, but well, we missed them, we felt them a lot today and from here on we can only thank them. We are looking forward to playing at home again and hearing them again.
