Javier Aguirre could not hide his delight after our 1-0 win against Celta Vigo. We returned to winning ways courtesy of Amath’s 21st minute strike at the Estadio Abanca Balaídos. Find out what the boss had to say below:
"Nobody gives you anything for free. You suffer a lot for 90 minutes. I think the team was serious. We had been playing at that level for three or four matches. We are a team that depends on all the players we have. We've suffered two weeks with injuries and injuries with cards. It all came together a bit, but I think those who came on did well.
"Today is a fair reward for the difficult month we've had. There was really only the shot against the post by Celta and then Rajkovic, the little he had to deal with which wasn't very dangerous. The team handled things well. We scored the goal and we had other chances to score some more, but it's fine. The victory is good.
"Amath had a good game and helps us everywhere - he finished as a full-back. We put Antonio Sánchez in that position first.
"We have 37 points, but I'm not confident at all. We have to mathematically certify it as soon as possible and then we'll see.”
