LA LIGA PRESS RELEASE

The competition has shared the following decision upheld by the delegated committee and Judication of Social Discipline

Succeeding the meeting of its delegated committee earlier today, LaLiga wishes to state the following:

The Judication of Social Discipline, dated on the 7th of August 2020, decided to file a disciplinary file brought against CF Fuenlabrada on the ground that CF Fuenlabrada has not committed any negligence or breach of protocols. This decision of the Judge endorses the action of LaLiga and CF Fuenlabrada before the File of Extraordinary Procedure No 562 2019/20 of the Committee of Competition at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), based against that of the SAD.

LaLiga reiterates its absolute respect and support of the ruling taken by the Judication of Social Discipline at LaLiga, the only competent entity of objectivity in which to resolve this issue. After analysing all the documentation provided by the LaLiga managers, the delegated committee understands that the established protocols were respected and that CF Fuenlabrada complied with LaLiga at all times.

With regard to the release provided by the RFEF concerning the non-authorisation draw of the calendar, this delegated committee ratifies LaLiga's decision in accordance with its powers to hold the draw on the 27th August at the appropriate place.

Furthermore, the delegated committee considers inadmissible any proposal which is intended to alter the number of members of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank, since it must only attend to sporting result. LaLiga has already expressly stated this point with a release sent to the RFEF on the 14th August. Finally, the delegated committee calls upon all institutions to ensure respect for the competition of LaLiga, thereby avoiding undue interference that hinders the normal functioning of an industry which accounts for 1.37% of GDP and generates 185,000 jobs. The league has more than demonstrated its unfailing support for wider Spanish sport.
