Luis García Plaza was on hand to offer his thoughts on our 2-0 win over UD Almería in his post-match press conference. Find out what the boss had to say about the victory, the performance and what lies ahead below:
On the match...
"We have 12 points out of a possible 15 in the second half of the season. We are very happy. They made us run like nobody else. In the first half, whoever had the ball did the damage. Today's game was won in the penalty area. Salva Sevilla, for his age, he played a great game. I'm very happy for him. He's giving a masterclass.
"It's three more points. If we don't win in Logroño they'll be at our necks again. We have played against top teams. I'm very happy for the lads. The team showed plenty of personality in the second half.”
On Iddrisu Baba and Salva Sevilla...
"I was really looking forward to seeing Baba at this level. He is an octopus. He steals everything and gets everywhere. It's very important to get this player back. As for Salva's goal, I knew he was going to score. He's phenomenal. He plays a lot of minutes at a high level every game.”
On the dressing room....
"The dressing room is stable, win or lose. It looks like it's going to be a very tough league and the team will go down a few more times. We know that on Saturday we have to win in Logroño. The day we stop winning, they're going to get closer to us. The six teams near us are having a great season.”
On the season...
"There are a lot of games left. We're only five games into the second half. People see games as finals when they are not. The points in Albacete are worth the same as today's and those of Logroño. In these games we've taken away direct confrontations, but it's a long way off. When there are only a few matchdays left we'll talk about it. We have a lot of good values. The players were stiff at the end of the match, but they held their nerve and gave everything. We have a very committed team.
"A lot of people didn't believe we would be here. This year's opponents are of a very high level. We have to keep going. We want to dedicate the victory to 'Bolao' and to our fourth season ticket holder, Miquel Busquets.”
