Manu Morlanes: “There is a great connection between the team and the fans”
The midfielder previewed our clash with Villarreal and discussed his move to the club
Manu Morlanes has reflected on his first few weeks at the club following his January arrival ahead of our clash with his former side Villarreal.
The midfielder knows the qualities of this weekend’s visitors intimately having developed in their academy, but believes we have the quality to take all three points.
"Villarreal is a great team and they have been proving it,” Morlanes told fans over Twitter Spaces. “It is true that they are not at their best moment, but there are players of high quality who will want to redeem these recent results by getting a victory. We are really looking forward to being back with our people and try to be strong at home.
"I am very happy. I've only been here for two weeks and it feels like I've been here for years. It is a very welcoming club, with very humble people, very nice. They had already told me about the dressing room and that it was a very human place with very nice people.
"The connection between the team and the fans is positive and will help us to get many points.”
Morlanes made his debut against Sevilla at the Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, but believes there is more to come from both him and is team-mates.
"I felt good, I had already been training with the team for several days,” he added. “I feel like one of the team and I felt good on the pitch, although I would have liked the conditions for my debut to have been different, with a more favorable result.
“We know that LaLiga is very tough and that there are very complicated places to go to. The team is doing things very well.”
