A brace from Dani Rodríguez and goals from Tino Kadewere and Vedat Muriqi secure all three points
Dani Rodríguez’s brace and goals from Tino Kadewere and Vedat Muriqi saw us overcome Villarreal 4-2 and extend our unbeaten run at home.
Aguirre named a rotated back five as Pablo Maffeo, Gio, Antonio Raíllo, Jose Copete and Jaume Costa lined up in defence.
We were ahead in the 20th minute when Kadewere fired home from close range after Muriqi had teed him up as our high press caused the visitors all sorts of problems.
Manu Trigueros received a straight red card a minute later when he lashed out at Dani Rodríguez during an off-the-ball incident.
A defensive mix-up later gifted Morales an opportunity to race through on goal and score two minutes prior to half-time.
However, we would go into the break with the lead courtesy of Dani Rodríguez’s header in the 45th minute as our midfielder ghosted into the box and powered a header past Reina.
The visitors punished us once again for a defensive error five minutes after the restart as Chukwueze latched onto a quick turnover in possession in our defensive third and equalised matters with a composed finish.
We would not be level for long as just six minutes later Dani Rodríguez restored our advantage by latching onto Muriqi’s flick on and heading home at a corner.
Muriqi turned from provider to goalscorer in the 63rd minute to put the game beyond doubt with an unstoppable finish from close range after Raillo had beat the offside trap and teed our forward up.
The visitors never looked like pulling level again after the Kosovan’s goal as we secured yet another win at home.
