Mateu Jaume returns to his home town Petra

Friends, family and fans welcomed our new signing home

Mateu Jaume received a hero's welcome as he returned to his local village for the first time as a RCD Mallorca player to meet with fans.

Our new signing headed to the Plaça Ramon Llull of Petra with his parents, his family, his friends and his neighbors to meet with Mallorquinistas and Mallorcans.

Local mayor Salvador Femenías Riera, and the president of the Peña Mallorquinista de Petra Catalina Torrens were on hand to greet 'Mate' as he showed off our new home kit and took selfies and signed autographs.

Femenías said he is "very proud" to have him here and to have him back home. He also recalled the emotion he felt when he saw him "pick up the Champions League runner-up medal."

"You give me that extra horsepower"

Mateu Jaume spoke with club media and said: "I am very happy, happy and grateful. This reception from Petra gives me a thousand extra  horsepower. It will be a great year.

"I have memories of the whole process that I have been going through over the past few years. The truth is that there is a very good group, they have given me a great welcome, I am very grateful to my team-mates."
