Carlos Muñoz’s side kick off their season against Girona this weekend
Our RCD Mallorca Juvenil División de Honor side are ready to get started as their season begins this Saturday against Girona.
Having had an intense pre-season full of friendly fixtures and a number of new players joining the side, manager Carlos Muñoz is excited for the new campaign to get underway.
"It has been a pre-season with quite a few new faces in the team, players coming from different places,” said Muñoz. “The truth is that I am very happy with the process and the learning process of all of them. I think we are facing the first game very well and above all we value the progression they are having.
“We face the first game with the difficulty of playing away from home and against a good team.
“The aim is to try to improve the player on a daily basis so that he is prepared for a possible promotion to the reserve or first team, and then to compete every weekend to get the three points. In the long term, to try to be as high a level as possible.”
With plenty of hard work having gone into preparations for the new campaign, captain Dani García says the dressing room is ready for the challenges that await them.
"The team is very excited,” he told club media. “We have been working for the last seven weeks with a lot of enthusiasm. We are practically a new team, but we are working very well. We know that we are going to a complicated stadium, but we intend to get something positive out of it.
"I am very happy and very grateful to the whole team and the coaching staff for making me captain. For me it is an honour to finish my youth career as captain.”
