1x06 Endimoniats: Marcos Cabotá

Director of the upcoming Orgull documentary spoke to our podcast

Director Marcos Cabotá is the latest guest of our Endimoniats podcast for episode six.

The man behind the upcoming documentary ‘Orgull’ – a feature length film chronicling our build-up to the Copa del Rey final - joined hosts Damián García and Llorenç Diego at the Mallorca Sports Bar

In the lengthy conversation, Cabotá shared details about his creative process and his relationship with the club ahead of the film’s release.

“You're more aware of people's reaction than your own,” Cabotá said. “I have already seen Orgull 84 times and, although I don't feel rejection, I no longer experience it in the same way. Now I focus on how the public perceives it.

“My first memory as a Mallorquinista was being at a Christmas dinner with the Mallorca squad, sitting on Miguel Ángel Nadal's lap. You have to sit in the stands, live it from there, understand it from that point of view.”

Cabotá has also reflected on his dream of being a filmmaker and going against family advice with his father a former RCD Mallorca vice president.

“My father used to tell me: 'Go into the world of real estate developers,' but I knew that what I wanted was to make films. It was hard, but he finally understood my decision.

“Before you could only distribute your film in theaters, but now, thanks to platforms that support independent film, directors have many more options.”
