Abdòn Prats is a man in form.
With four goals and an assist across the six matches he has featured in, he is joint top goalscorer with his strike partner Vedat Muriqi.
As we prepare to face Real Sociedad, our forward reflected on his start to the campaign, the fans and why RCD Mallorca is the place to be for him.
On his nickname: “It's something special, isn't it? To be identified as Dimoni. In the end it is a race, it is fire, it is character and it is something special to be compared or to be called "the Dimoni of Artá" or "our Dimoni". It is something that makes me very happy, that gives me a lot of strength and that motivates me. In the end I use it as a way of motivation and it is something that I like very much and that will remain for the memory.”
On the Dimoni pre-match shows: “It motivates the fans and personally it motivates me to see that atmosphere and that noise before going out. It is something magical and the truth is that it is something that pushes us 100%.”
On Real Sociedad: "It is clear that Real Sociedad is at the same level as Barça, Madrid or Atlético de Madrid. It will be a complicated match. I am confident, seeing the week we are doing. It's something you can see. I see it and it puts you at ease. When the game is at 95, 100 or 105 minutes and anything can happen."
On his form: “I am immensely happy, I am content and I feel at ease. I am confident. I am in a perfect moment of footballing maturity. I am enjoying and reading the situations of each match and each training session in a way that before, being younger and with less experience, I didn't read them as well. We can get to see an Abdón who gives many results to the team and who constantly contributes positive things for Mallorca. I am very happy for these three consecutive starts and we hope that there will be many more and that the victories come quickly.”
On his relationship with Muriqi: “We don't even need to talk. I think you can see the understanding we have on the field. In the end we sacrifice, we have quality and the will to help Mallorca. It is true that he and I understand each other very well and we are very comfortable playing together.”
On his relationship with Sergi Darder: “With Sergi it basically seems that we have not separated all these years. We are on the field and without looking at each other we already know what move he will make and what move I will make. It is something special. And it is an honor that we can have him, that we can enjoy him and that he gives us many assists."
His 'call' with Spain for AI: “It is true that it is funny, but also serious. Because in the end, whether you want it or not, today artificial intelligence is the present. It can be wrong or not, but the numbers are there. The truth is that it is something that motivates you because it means you are doing things right. We have to continue on this path to improve and make my history with Mallorca even better.”
