Abdón Prats and Martin Valjent celebrate appearance milestones
The pair were handed commemorative shirts having reached appearance milestones
Club president Andy Kohlberg presented Abdón Prats and Martin Valjent with commerative shirts to celebrate their appearance milestones.
The former reached the 200-game milestone for the club, while our central defender made his 100th LaLiga appearance in red and black recently.
Abdón Prats is in his sixth consecutive season at RCD Mallorca, and has played in three different divisions: Segunda B, Segunda División and Primera División. With 41 goals to his name so far, the striker said: "For me it's an honour to wear the shirt; to defend it; to always try to give my all. Let's hope that there will be 200 more games and that it will be a long, never-ending story.
Martin Valjent joined in the summer of 2018 and is currently one of our captains under Javier Aguirre. This season is being his third campaign in the top flight of Spanish football in which he has played 28 games totalling 2,500 minutes. His other two seasons in Primera Divsión were 2019/20 and 2021/22, in which he played 36 games in each of them.
"I didn't imagine, when I arrived here, that I would be able to reach 100 games in the Primera División wearing the Real Mallorca shirt,” Valjent said. “Having reached this great figure is the result of daily work, which far from being a sacrifice for me is a passion.
For me, the most important thing in football is what we are able to transmit when we step on the pitch. I feel very fortunate to be able to represent a club with so much history.”
