Saturday, January 13, 2024 will be a memorable day in the history of Mallorquinismo as twenty-five years later, the new Estadi Mallorca Son Moix will be inaugurated after a €30 million renovation.
It has been 601 days of reform, meeting deadlines and work from architect Izaskun Larzabal and various construction teams. A comprehensive reform whose objective was to bring the fans closer to the stadium by removing the athletics tracks, as well as modernising our new home. The south end is the last area to be refurbished, which will be used for the first time by the L'INFERN 1916 supporters' stand for the match against Celta de Vigo on Saturday afternoon.
Although the match against the Galicians will be the main focus of attention, RCD Mallorca wants everyone to enjoy this important day in our history before kick-off and will host different activities and surprises in the morning.
Little ones and their families will have multi-adventure activities and popular games from 11:00 to 13:00 available thanks to the collaboration and organisation of the Consell de Mallorca. All of them will take place in front of the stadium, in Camí dels Reis street which will be closed for the event.
Then, at 13:00 hours, the club will invite 2,000 fans to paella. Tickets will be collected at the entrance to the parking lot of the stadium offices, while the area to enjoy the fresh food will be on the esplanade of the new store.
At 14:15 the doors of the new Estadi Mallorca Son Moix will open, two hours before the match and there will be two hours of constant activity.
In the inner rings will be offered ensaimada for the fans, while in the south end there will be three stages for the performances of the Mallorcan artists Marc Seguí, Sahra Lee and the DJ Aina Losange as well as Symphony Orchestra of the Balearic Islands, the Son Dameto Choir and the Municipal Band of Palma who will play the RCD Mallorca anthem and La Balanguera.
Mallorquinistas who enter the stadium in time will be able to witness a new spectacle from our dimonis, a parachutist landing on the pitch with the RCD Mallorca flag and the traditional ball de bot of our island.
Fans will also find a flag in each of the seats of the stadium, sponsored by L'Artista and Presuntuoso.
The day is packed full of additional surprises and we can't wait to see you.
