The goalscorer and capitan reflected on an important three points at the Visit Mallorca Estadi
Antonio Raíllo and Manolo Reina reflected on our 1-0 victory over CD Leganés at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. In a tightly-contested fixture, the centre back headed the game’s only goal in the 26th minute to ensure we secured an important three points. Find out what the pair had to say about the game and the dressing room below:
On the match...
Manolo Reina: "The team was doing a lot of things to take the game to a very tough opponent. We needed these three points. After the other day, I’m very happy. This team always believes, we have been able to break the bad streak.”
Antonio Raíllo: "We have to keep up the team's work. We have had matches where we have not shown that, but today we have shown the commitment and demonstrated what this team is. We have changed the chip. We knew the importance of the match.”
On the team...
Manolo Reina: "This is football. The important thing is to help the team and I can take away the thorn from Fuenlabrada. I knew that the ball had not gone in. We’re very happy with the victory and now we have to think about Las Palmas. There is still the final stretch of the season and we have to stay focused. The Segunda División is very long and we will be there.”
Antonio Raíllo: "CD Leganés are a very good team in this league. We have shown the sacrifice that the team always demonstrates. Today we have to congratulate Manolo, who always delivers. He has had a hard time these days, but he deserves a lot. We’re all here [for one another] because this is a family. Through the good and bad moments, the team is united.”
