Antonio Sánchez: ‘I’m motivated to get back training with the team’
The midfielder has undergone shoulder surgery and will be out for the start of the season
Antonio Sánchez says he can’t wait to get back in action for RCD Mallorca having successfully undergone shoulder surgery.
The midfielder is set to face two months on the sidelines after the operation, but is already looking forward to rejoining the squad and getting back to work.
“After talking it over with the coach, I decided to have surgery right after the end of last season,” he told the club’s website. “For the moment, I'm working little by little and I'm getting back on the field. It's complicated, you have to go slowly and follow guidelines and a certain rhythm, but I feel fine and I'm looking forward to training with the team.
“It’s something I've been carrying for years and I even had that problem last year in pre-season. We decided with the coach that the best thing to do was to wait, as I wanted to contribute as much as possible to the team.”
While Sánchez will miss out on the first few games of our return to LaLiga, the academy graduate says he can’t wait for the challenge that awaits him and the team.
"Despite the operation, I'm very excited,” he continued. “It's what I've always dreamed of: to be with RCD Mallorca in LaLiga. We have a difficult season ahead of us, but good players have come in, so we should be more excited than afraid.”
