Brian Oliván and Iddrisu Baba analyse the 1-1 draw with Real Betis
The goalscorer and midfielder spoke to the club media after our first game of the season
Brian Oliván and Iddrisu Baba were on media duties as we got our return to LaLiga underway with a 1-1 draw against Real Betis. Brian Oliván got our first goal of the season in the first half before an own goal from Manolo Reina meant the points were shared at the Visit Mallorca Estadi. Find out what the pair had to say below:
On the performance...
BO: “We should never take a point for granted. We always go for the three points, but they made it very difficult for us. Betis is a great team and that's why we value the point. It's the first point of our LaLiga season and everything is about getting points. We will keep working. The team gave their all.”
IB: "It was a good match to start the season. We'll keep fighting little by little and we'll see what happens in LaLiga. We have to take advantage of what we have in front of us. It's one more point we've earned.”
On the goal and what's to come...
BO: "I'm very happy for the goal. I was looking forward to it. It didn't help us get the three points, but it helped the team, which is the most important thing. Now we have to correct mistakes, but the fans will surely be proud and we must enjoy the points we get.”
IB: "Now we leave this game behind us and think about the next one. Last season could have been improved for me, but for this one I hope that better things will come for me and for the team.”
