Colunga: “the goal is to get to the first game of the season in top shape"
The forward believes in the mix of veterans and youth on this roster
Adrian Colunga met with the communications staff after yesterday´s training session and spoke about the work he has these days in preparing the overall objective, “the first game of the season will come at an opportune time.” The striker elaborated that these preseason games are useful because they allow the team to gather momentum, “it is good not to lose, but what we really have to think about is that we will play against Reus. That is where we have to be looking the entire time.”
And about this preseason camp, the player mentioned that it is important to improve the physical and mental feelings about the season. He then said that it is useful for the group to get to know each other and “for the new people to adapt to the philosophy of the team.”
With respect to the objectives for this season alone, Colunga was incisive, “I want our collective level to be much better this year and, accordingly, that I will also be better. In that order, team first.” He also recognized that he feels valued by the coach and the club, which makes him train stronger, “because I can create a strong foundation, unlike last year when I had to train alone for three months.
At a personal level, the attacker stated that he is “phenomenal and getting better every day through training and competing” and he elaborated that the mix of veterans and youth on the roster “has gathered people that have competed in the first division with others who have great potential. It can be a great mix,” he concluded.
