Cucho Hernández: ‘It’s time to get important points’
The striker previewed our clash with Valencia CF and discussed our Copa del Rey tie with Real Zaragoza
Juan Camilo ‘Cucho’ Hernández says every point is vital ahead of our clash with Valencia CF at Son Moix this Sunday.
The striker has featured in all of our games since the winter break having recovered from a lengthy injury, and says accumulating positive results will improve confidence in the squad - starting with Los Che.
“It’s time to get important points, not just having good games," he said at his pre-match press conference. “We’re going to give it our all. We have to add confidence at home. You have to be calm, this is how our league is and you have to go for safety.
“I can’t be anxious, if I am I lose myself. I have to be calm and focus on the goal for myself and the for the team. I am physically close to 100% while the other things will eventually come. Every minute I get I find myself more confident.”
We will quickly need to shift our focus to the round of 32 in the Copa del Rey as we face Real Zaragoza just two days later on Tuesday evening, although Cucho says despite the quick turnaround it’s a game he is hotly anticipating.
“They are a beautiful opposition. I played in derbies against Real Zaragoza in the derbies when I was at CD Huesca. You almost don’t have time to rest after the game, I thought that we would play on the Wednesday and that surprised me.”
