A brace from Abdon Prats and a Vedat Muriqi penalty were not enough as we fell to a 5-3 loss at Girona.
Javier Aguirre continued with four central midfielders as Sergi Darder, Samu Costa, Manu Morlanes and Dani Rodríguez started, while Jaume Costa returned to the starting XI at left back.
We could not have wished for a better start as Muriqi put us ahead from the penalty spot following a handball in the box in the fourth minute.
The hosts pulled level in the 26th minute when David Lòpez reacted first to a loose ball in the box and fired home from close range.
Girona doubled their lead thanks to a Artem Dovbyk penalty in the 33rd minute after a VAR review revealed Samu Costa had made a foul in the box.
Iván Martin added a third in the 37th minute when he raced into the box unmarked to find the bottom corner, before Yangel Herrera found the back of the net to end a difficult first half.
The hosts found a fifth in the 57th minute when Savinho played a quick one-two and raced in behind to beat Predrag Rajkovic.
We mounted a late comeback as Abdòn Prats scored a late brace, firing home in the 87th minute before heading home in injury time.
It was too little, too late as we headed back to the island with a loss.
