Jaume Costa: “We are motivated to reach our objective”
Our defender spoke to the media ahead of our final game of the season against CA Osasuna
Jaume Costa says he and the squad are ready to fight for their place in LaLiga ahead of our final game of the season against CA Osasuna on Sunday evening.
We head to Pamplona level on points with 18th-placed Cádiz with our hopes of survival in the balance, and our defender believes he and his team-mates are focused on nothing less than three points.
"After the defeat against Granada CF, we were more than a game away from relegation,” he told journalists in a pre-match press conference. “Many of us couldn't sleep at night. There were games left but it was a very complicated situation, but we have seen that with hard work and belief, the situation changes.
"We are motivated to achieve our objective and we depend on ourselves. If we get the victory in Pamplona, we won't have to look at any other game.
"CA Osasuna will not be an easy opponent. We know they are a tough team and they will want to say goodbye to their fans [with a win]. They have had a great season. It's the last battle and we have to give 100%.
With survival heading to the final game of the season, Costa says it is important to learn from the past.
"Suffering is part of life,” he continued. “It's not how long you have a bad time, but how you react to that suffering.
“The bad moments in football have made me mature, grow, recover, and all this has made me who I am today. It's hard to see the Mallorquinistas suffer. We have to achieve our objective for them.”
