Javier Recio is the new Technical Director at RCDM
The new boss of the technical team will be presented in the coming days
Real Mallorca and Javier Recio have agreed to charge the Madrid-native with the duties of the Technical Director of the club. The agreement stems from both parties’ interest in creating successful and sustainable first team soccer founded upon strong youth and reserve teams.
In comes Javier Recio Delgado, born in Madrid in 1972. Recio becomes the chief soccer mind within the Club, after scouting for soccer clubs across Spain and Portugal, most recently, as the head talent scout at RCD Espanyol in Barcelona.
The new Sports Director has lived, breathed, and bled soccer, beginning his playing career in the academy of Real Madrid’s “La Castilla,” before moving to Leganes, Celta B, Penafiel (Portugal), Algeciras, Lorca, Terrassa, Badalona, and eventually, to Sant Andreu.
After his playing career ended, Recio landed at RCD Espanyol as a scout, where he tracked and recruited first division talent. The, after two years, he moved to Real Madrid to do the same, before becoming the head talent scout at Baleares, Catalunya, and Levante, and earned himself a return to RCD Espanyol, one of the deepest talent mines in all of Spain, to head the prestigious task-force who collected and fostered some of Spain’s most talented players.
