We are delighted to announce that Josep Gaya has signed a new contract with the club that will run until 2026.
Our academy product featured in three games this season as part of his transition into the senior side, playing against Real Sociedad, Barcelona and Valencia.
"I am very happy,” Gaya said to the media. “It is the team of my island, of all my life. Now we will try to give our all on the pitch again to keep on adding to the team".
He also highlighted how much he has learned during these months. "I have learned a lot from both the coach and my teammates, and also from the matches I have been able to watch when I have been called up with them. Just by watching and being attentive, you learn a lot and when you apply it in practice is when you definitely take the step that leads you to grow and achieve your goals.
"I arrived here at the age of 16. When I was 17, I had a pretty serious cruciate injury from which I had a hard time recovering my strength to move forward, but I managed to do it. With a lot of hard work and effort I got this contract, which for me is a dream come true.”
