Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni and his management team were guests in one of our private boxes as we beat Villarreal CF 3-1 at Son Moix.
The national squad will be using our training facilities at Son Bibiloni ahead of their friendlies against Brazil and Uruguay over the international break, and the former RCD Mallorca defender believes there is no better place to prepare.
“RCD Mallorca has done a good job getting promoted,” Scaloni told our exclusive matchday radio broadcast. “ I have very good memories here, I know the facilities and the city well. My memories of Mallorca are some of the best and we are happy to be here.”
The Albiceleste kickstart their training on Monday with an open training session to the public at 17:00 and will remain at Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio until Wednesday.
“We’re training here before we play against Brazil and Uruguay. We believe that there is a calmness here we couldn’t get at other places. They are very important games. They are friendlies, but on face value important because of what comes next: the qualifiers and Copa América. With Brazil it’s never a friendly and against Uruguay it’s also a huge game. They are very difficult games but we are up to it.”
