Luis García Plaza: ‘In the decisive moments we’ve not been able to score’
The boss analysed the defeat at the Nuevo Castalia in his post-match press conference
Luis García Plaza offered an insight into what went wrong on a frustrating evening at CD Castellón as we slipped to a 1-0 defeat. Find out what the boss had to say about the performance, the result and what is next for his side below:
On the match...
"The game reminds me of the Albacete game at home. We were on target until the last pass. We had chances to score, avoid losing and even win, but football is about scoring. In the decisive moments we were unable to score. It makes me angry to lose like that. It's going to be long and we have to keep going. We're annoyed because it was an important match for us.
"In football, justice is given by goals. Today we generated enough chances to score. I think we made more than enough to score at least one. The game is won in penalty areas and today we were not accurate. That's the way it is.
"What gets you closer to victories is playing well. They did little to us and managed to score. In the worst-case scenario, we'll be like we were two weeks ago. It's going to be hard and it's going to be very tough. Every team is going to give everything. The result is not fair, but justice is goals.”
On the team's situation...
"Today we have run, we have arrived, we have centered, we have shot but there has been no goal - that's how it is. The other day we scored in the first minute. The league is long and this is what it is. We're going to keep fighting, get up and prepare for the next game.
"We have to be prudent. We are in a model situation. It's going to be long and we have to fight it out. We have to work hard to achieve what we are doing."
