Luis García Plaza: ‘We have to think about ourselves and go to Málaga to win’

The boss looked ahead to our clash on Matchday 38 in his pre-match press conference

Luis García Plaza says his side must keep their eyes on prize ahead of our trip to Málaga CF on Saturday evening.

Requiring just two wins and a draw to secure an automatic play-off place, the boss issued a rally cry prior to facing the well-drilled Malaguistas having ended a winless run of form last week against CD Mirandés.

"Victories always help to face the weeks,” he told journalists at a pre-match press conference. “When you win, you're on a roll. Objectives are built over the long term and there are always rocks. We have trained quite well and we have to beat Málaga CF to stay close to our objective.

"We have to appreciate what Málaga CF has done - the work of Pellicer, the Sporting Director and the players. They have had a great season. With the resources they have, they are playing very well. It is a cheerful, young team and it is one of the teams that has fulfilled its objectives."

With Almería and CD Leganés hot on our heels as the season reaches its climax, the boss believes his side must remain focused on themselves.

“We have two wins and a draw left to achieve our objective,” he continued. “Our idea is to go to win as we do every day. We have to think about ourselves because we depend on ourselves. The team is very calm. Whatever happens, we will continue to depend on ourselves. The team has to go at 100% for this match.”
