Important week for Mallorca B as the academy outfit has qualified for the Regional Final of the FA Cup as this Sunday they face Barça B at Son Bibiloni.
Olaizola boys sealed their pass to the final snatching the tie versus Penya Esportiva by 2-0 and 1-3. On Wednesday starts the Final Stage where our academy side meets Poblense. The winner os the islands will proceed with Atletic Balears, current holder of the trophy, on to the national stage of the competittion.
Before that though, Mallorca B faces one of the great rivals in their 2ª B group: Barça B. The Catalan are leaders with 4 victories and only one defeat.
After clinching three points against the other academy side in the division, Atletic Levante, the Mallorca side have a new opportunity to place themselves better in the table. It will be an exciting game as both managers Javier Olaizola and Gerard Lopez go for an attractive kind of football through possession and creation. It is also a very good opportunity to see some of the future talent from both clubs on the pitch.
