Mallorca starts this preseason with medical checkups at the Quirónsalud Palmaplanas Hospital
The RCD Mallorca first team players will spend some time this week at the Quirónsalud Palmaplanas Hospital, for evaluation in these first few days of the new season. The players will go through a cardiovascular exam and a stress test to measure their fitness at the outset.
Players from both the first and reserve teams will visit the Quirónsalud Palmaplanas Hospital throughout the week to proceed with these precautionary medical checkups that are commonplace at the beginning of professional sporting seasons.
However, each player will go through customized cardiovascular tests, like the electrocardiogram, the transthoracic echocardiogram, and other like studies that allow doctors to assess the players´ cardiovascular health in great detail.
Further, Dr. Eduardo Ribot will perform the ergoespirometria test, a test of the body´s effort exerted in exhaling and expelling various gases that are created by exercise. This analysis enables an expert to diagnose the health of an athlete and evaluate those athlete´s functional capabilities.
This past week, the Quirónsalud Palmaplanas Hospital graciously hosted medical exams for the Club´s new signings: Juan Dominguez, Juan Rodríguez, Culio, Roberto Santamaría, Antonio Raillo, and Ion Ansotegui.
