Mallorca B started the preseason tour in Llubí. At this first stop, under the direction of Pepe Gálvez and Julian Robles—who are overseeing the squad in Javier Olaizola´s medically-induced absence—the team showed confidence and creativity in front of the net.
The coaches used different lineups for each half, taking advantage of a scrimmage that allows the coach to test out the new additions and old alike, and to see who will be continue to fight for the RCD Mallorca colors and crest. This time, the B crew played in all white, and scored seven goals: three in the first half and four in the second, one from a penalty. Llubí was only able to create chances from set-pieces, and scored the only goal from a penalty in the second half.
Regardless of the outcome, which at this time is not relevant, the team showed surprisingly well for it being the first real contact. Defensively, the team looked comfortable, knowing that there are kinks to work out. In attack, the group was fast and effective. This efficiency has been following the team, luckily, and the team will hope that it continues.
One of the attractions of this #mallorcaBtour is that during the halftimes of the games, members from the Veterans of Real Mallorca association and former players from the area can play, in this case, from Llubí. The extraordinary combination of past, present, and future players animated the crowd in Llubí, which was only the first stop on the reserve team´s preseason tour.
On Wednesday, the #mallorcaBtour will pass through Torrentó de Felantix. The second game of the preseason will see the bermellones face off against a team that earned promotion to the third division.
