RCD Mallorca B has placed today morning at 11:00 A.M. at the Iberostar Stadium their first league game corresponding to the 2016-2017 season in Segunda Division B. After last season’s stay in Tercera Division, Javier Olaizola’s group have bounced back to the Bronze division and debuted with a 0-1 defeat against Alcoyano. Around 500 people came to watch a game, which was settled in the first half thanks to Gato’s goals in the 29th minute. For the rest of the game Alcoyano has known how to defend their lead.
The Mallorquinist Academy outfit did not lost a game in the preseason, so it comes as a surprise that the first official one is wrapped up with a beating. Yet the young guns have demonstrated a good fitness level. Today Ángel Sánchez has been the reference up front. The striker has had the best chances Between sticks, Jaume Valens has featured, despite actually completing the preseason with the first team.
Today’s game has been broadcast by the regional TV channel IB3, same as will be broadcast next Saturday when the next date in the calendar comes for Olaizola’s men at Son Malferit Stadium versus Atlètic Baleares. Tomorrow the players are given a rest and on Tuesday training resumes for the preparation for the local derby.
