Pablo Gálvez’s late winner gives our academy side the win at the Ciutat Esportiva Antonio Asensio
A dramatic injury-time strike from Pablo Gálvez saw RCD Mallorca B overcome CE Santanyí 1-0 at the Ciutat Esportiva Antonio Asensio as we returned to winning ways.
Julián Robles’ side were in control throughout the opening exchanges, and despite Miguel y Montalbán coming closest to breaking the deadlock, we ultimately headed into the dressing room come half-time with the scores level.
We continued to launch wave after wave of attack at the visitors’ defence after the restart, but we were unable to convert our dominance into goals. A host of changes altered the dynamic of our attack, yet Javier Albín’s long-range effort appeared to the be closest we would come to getting the result our possession deserved as time ebbed away.
Leaving it until the 94th minute in what was the final phase of play, Pablo Gálvez reacted first to Montalbán's prior sight at goal to cue pandemonium in the home dugout with a dramatic winner.
