Pablo Gálvez’s strike and and an own goal gave our young bermellones their first win of 2021
Pablo Galvez’s wonder strike and an own goal ensured RCD Mallorca started the new year with a 2-1 victory over CD Binissalem at Son Bibiloni.
Manager Julián Robles rotated his starting XI having lost a number of key players to the senior side’s Copa del Rey clash, although the introduction of young forward Pablo Gálvez was rewarded when the teenager opened the scoring with a delightful lob over the backpedalling Boison on the half-hour mark.
Gálvez proved a handful for the visitors’ defence with runs in behind throughout the remainder of the first half as we headed into the break with a slender advantage.
Despite maintaining a monopoly on possession upon the restart, CD Binissalem levelled matters against the run of play on the 75th minute when Francesc headed home Forteza’s corner
The equaliser only served as a catalyst for an all-out offensive approach as we looked for an instant response. Our efforts were rewarded with seven minutes left on the clock when a worked corner resulted in Samuel flicking the ball past Boison and handing us a winning start to 2021.
