Alejandro Pereira and Erik Iglesias’ strikes condemn our young bermellones to defeat at Son Bibiloni
Goals from Alejandro Pereira and Erik Iglesias either side of half-time condemned RCD Mallorca DH to a 2-0 defeat against CE Europa at Son Bibiloni.
The opening exchanges were both cagey and subject to heavy rainfall, but our slow start was ultimately punished just past the half-hour mark as Pereira’s header from a corner put the visitors ahead.
Responding in the right way and taking control of possession, we were unable to create anything of note prior to the break and headed into the dressing room with a big 45 minutes in front of us.
We got the restart off on the right foot as Iván Zamarono was a matter of inches away from levelling with a shot which crashed against the bar, although Iglesias’ clever finish on the 56th minute halted our growing momentum.
Flying forward as time ebbed away in serch of a dramatic comeback, our best efforts would ultimately prove to be futile come the final whistle.
