This Thursday, June 30, Monti Galmés was nominated President of RCD Mallorca. The new president of the Bermellone outfit was chosen by the Club´s Board of Directors, who showed their support in the decision by voting unanimously.
Mr. Galmés has been acting as the Club´s Vice President for the past year and a half, where he excelled in his willingness to help and cooperate, in his Mallorquinism, and in his ability to represent the Club in all areas where he was required. It is also his goal to succeed as Club President under the current conditions and he expresses publicly that it is an honor for him to represent the Presidency of the largest soccer club in Palma.
Monti Galmés, a Manacor-native, is licensed in business and tourism, and is married with two children and three grandchildren. In December 2014, he received the Gold Medal of Promotional Tourism for his work at the front of Robinson Hotels in Spain and Portugal, as part of the larger TUI Group, with whom he has worked for since 1980. He is considered a pioneer of Mallorcan Tourism for bringing quality and excellence in the amenities of his establishments, which has garnered many accolades. That Gold Medal was in recognition of his extensive professional experience and for his promoting the positive image of Mallorca to the world around.
