RCD Mallorca Continue Unbeaten Start To Season With 2-0 Win Against Platges de Calvia

Goals from Raùl Prada and Carlos ensured Los Bermellones' fine form rolled on at Son Bibiloni

RCD Mallorca B’s unbeaten start to the season rolled on courtesy of an assured 2-0 victory over Platges de Calvia at Son Bibiloni.

Los Bermellones struggled to hit their stride in the opening 20 minutes as the opposition’s defensive resolve limited proceedings to a handful of half chances.

The breakthrough would come in the 26th minute and following some clever interplay in midfield, Raùl Prada was slipped into the box and made no mistake unchallenged against the visiting goalkeeper.

Less than 10 minutes later RCD Mallorca B were two to the good thanks to a well-executed counter-attack ending with a clever feint inside from Jaume Tovar, a perfectly weighted pull back and Carlos rolling the ball into an empty net.

The crossbar prevented Joaquin from making matters worse for Platges de Calvia when Thomas raced in-behind his marker and teed up the midfielder’s curled effort on the stroke of half-time.

RCD Mallorca B looked determined to add a third once play had resumed as Tovar first sent wide a dangerous cross and then curled a rasping effort over the bar.

Never in danger of surrendering their advantage – typified by having yet to concede a goal this season - Los Bermellones’ measured performance maintained their unbeaten form with a fourth win from five games.
