RCD Mallorca enter new phase of training resumption
The squad is now training in groups of 10 as we step up our return to match fitness following the COVID-19 pandemic
Head of Fitness Dani Pastor says the senior squad have entered the new phase of a return to full training ahead of a potential resumption to competitive football.
Able to train in groups of 10 players having spent the first week focusing on individual work, the team is now moving towards in-game scenarios such as shooting and passing in accordance with the healthy and safety measures in place.
“These first two weeks are more about volume, where the player has to adapt to the movements of the game which requires an extra workload,” Pastor told Play Red. "It’s not just about the exercise itself, but about getting back on the pitch. These five or six weeks before the competition returns are going to be very important to prepare the team to compete every 78 hours.”
