Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid will square off next Sunday June 26, at 11:00 AM, at RCDM´s Son Bibiloni training complex. This game is the final of the youth Copa del Rey tournament, after Real Madrid beat Villareal, and Atletico Madrid bested Levante in the semifinals.
Real comes into this game off of Santiago Solari´s goals, the first of which was the all-important away goal during the tie at Villareal. But, luck was always against Villareal, who scored first in both the home and away legs, only for Real Madrid to answer in force, with Dani Gómez scoring the deciding goal in stoppage time.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid also tied the first game 1-1, but bested Levante 3-1 in the second leg after tapping in two close-ones, both from Joel´s work inside the Levante box. Zaka, Solano, and Rubén put their finishing touches on the series, much to the approval of coach Óscar Fernández, who could celebrate only after the final whistle, after Levante spent much of the second half searching high and wide for goals and qualification.
This will be the fourth consecutive final for Real Madrid, who won their 12th title in 2013 in Vera (Almeria) but have lost their last two, against Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano.
On the other side of the coin, Atletico have not reached this penultimate game since 1958, when they won their third Copa after beating Alicante.
This time, the game will start at 11:00 AM on Sunday, at the Son Bibiloni Stadium, the womb of Mallorcan talent.
Tickets will be sold at the stadium box office.
Adults: 10€ and Children: 2€.
We hope to see you there.
