Salva Sevilla: ‘From the first day I’ve felt at home’

The midfielder reflected upon his contract renewal with the media

Salva Sevilla says there is no place like home after he signed a new one-year contract at the club.

The midfielder’s new deal will see him extend his stay at the Visit Mallorca Estadi for a fifth season having previously helped the side to consecutive promotions, although Salva Sevilla says he has given thought about life after football.

"Renewing has been very easy, because both parties wanted the same thing,” he told journalists via a remote press conference. “The club is counting on me and I wanted to be here, so we’re both happy. I came for three years, and when I arrived, to play once again in LaLiga I had to get two promotions in a row and it was unthinkable. I hope we can return to the First Division.

"The day I retire I want to continue to be linked to the world of soccer. I have different levels of coaching. I have already had the experience of having coached some children's teams, but I hope it will be in a few seasons' time still.”

Facing Fuenlabrada side that ended our record-breaking unbeaten run earlier this season before knocking us out of the Copa del Rey, Salva Sevilla is keen to put the record straight ahead of a crucial run of games.

"Fuenlabrada is a very unpredictable opponent with very important players," he continued. "They are a team that beat us at home and eliminated us in the Cup. We're hungry for revenge.

"We’re entering a very beautiful and important part of the season. People are going to be on fire and we're going to need everyone. We’re facing it in the best way. In the last two matchdays we haven't got the points which we wanted because we always want to win. From that point on, we have to be aware that all the teams would change for us.”
