RCD Mallorca welcomed representatives from the NBA, La Liga, Phoenix Suns and PayPal to discuss sporting and marketing topics
RCD Mallorca hosted the inaugural Mallorca Global Summit at Son Moix in partnership with the NBA, Phoenix Suns, La Liga and PayPal as various topics ranging from global marketing in business to establishing functioning relationships between clubs and leagues were discussed by guest speakers including club president Andy Kohlberg, La Liga ambassador Gaizka Mendieta and NBA representative Marko Milič.
The former of which kickstarted the event by speaking of the lofty ambitions RCD Mallorca has moving forward and a previous track record of committing to the '‘long-term project’ previously demonstrated by 15 seasons spent developing the Phoenix Suns. The club president underlined having ‘competitive players with character’ and the good work carried out at Son Bibiloni to ‘develop a competitive DNA’ as the crux of a ‘unique project in a touristic destination’ which can benefit from the ideas of both the Phoenix Suns and NBA.
RCD Mallorca CEO Maheta Molongo, NBA executive Chus Bueno, Phoenix Suns commercial Director Dan Costello, International Commercial & Marketing Director of La Liga Fergus Geekie and PayPal CEO Albert Sala were featured among the summit’s panel speakers discussing a range of sporting matters, while OK Cars CEO Othman Ktiri, Estrella Damm representative Rubén Forcada, Endesa’s Director of Marketing Alberto Fernandez debated ideas in regards to sports sponsorship.
The panel came to a conclusion with La Liga ambassador Gaizka Mendieta and NBA representative Marko Milič sharing their experiences working with brands and sponsorships in relation to the changing world of sports marketing.
