Our winger shared what life was like on the island with fans back in Japan
Takuma Asano caught up with fans back home on a Zoom call to share what life is like on the island, the season so far and his relationship with Abdón Prats.
The interview took place just a day after RCD Mallorca's 2-1 win over Valencia at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, a result that has moved the team into provisional fifth place in LaLiga. Asano, currently sidelined with injury, shared how he has seen the team progress in in recent months.
"Looking at my teammates, I can really appreciate how talented they are," Asano said after training. "This year has RCD Mallorca have a special magnetism.
The recovery
Asano is fully focused on his recovery and is eager to do his bit for Jagoba Arrasate's team: "I can't wait to get back on the pitch, to help the team, to be one of them."
Connection with Abdón
"We met when he came to Japan last June," revealed the Japanese striker. "I was having lunch, and he happened to be in the next room. I was introduced to him and we even discussed the possibility of playing together."
"He is one of the players I get on best with. Abdón is very interested in Shimizu S-Pulse. He often tells me what's going on with the team."
