Toni Lato and Marc Domènech discuss our pre-season win against Crewe Alexandra

Find out what our goalscorers had to say about getting off to a winning start in Birmingham

Toni Lato and Marc Domènech were on the scoresheet as we beat Crewe Alexandra 3-1 in our first pre-season fixture of our trip to Birmingham. Find out what the pair had to say below:

Toni Lato

“I'm very happy. We're here to get the ideas that the coach wants, to compete, to get into a rhythm ahead of LaLiga. It's been a good feeling and we have to keep pushing.

“I've never scored a goal with my right foot. I'm happy and I hope I can score another one this season.

“It's been a very good and intense few days. The coaching staff have come with a very specific idea and from the first day they have made it clear to us. The team is responding well. Maybe we are still a bit tired, but we are getting the feeling and from this first game we are improving and doing things that the coach wants us to do. There's still a long way to go, but I think we're all happy, excited and looking forward to the start of the season.

“I feel very well. This summer I've spent most of my time at home, with my family, to recharge my batteries. I've also been working with a physical trainer that I have. Personally I feel good and I want to be important this year.”

Marc Domènech

“It was a great joy because it's the first game I've played in and to be able to help with a goal, which is my first, makes me very happy.

“Collectively, we're doing very well. We still need to understand each other because there are quite a few new players.

“I didn't expect to come here. I was told that this would be like a reward and I've been here for a day and I'm having a great time.”
