Vázquez: “I knew it was going to be a hard game, a great atmosphere”
The manager praises the game and attitude of the team
Fernando Vázquez has come out for the press conference at the Carranza Stadium satisfied with the exhibited standard from his squad and has highlighted that clash “was led by the team who owned the ball and the other has based their game on counter-attacks”. In this sense, the manager reminded the difficulty to create occasions against a team parking the bus and has located the problem at “having the ball while at the same time halting their come-ons – a mission that was not accomplished at every stage”.
The Galician gaffer has looked up to their players effort after the given penalty and has emphasized that “when you come back and draw the game, you get back on your feet. Truth be told I am happy with the team and their attitude”.
Vázquez did not want to evaluate the penalty, but did show some remorse as there are some doubts as to why it was conceded. “I did not see it properly, but if it was given I guess it is rightly so”. The manager, lastly, remembered that “it is not easy to play against promoted sides as they normally have an electric vibe with their fans. I knew it was going to be very complicated, under a great atmosphere”, he summed up.
