Vicente Moreno: ‘We still have a need for points’

The boss spoke to journalists at his pre-match press conference ahead of RCD Mallorca’s trip to CD Leganés this weekend

Vicente Moreno says his side must continue their run of good form against CD Leganés this Saturday afternoon.

RCD Mallorca travel to the capital on the back of two consecutive victories and the manager believes further points are a priority ahead of what will be a 'difficult' game.

“It’s a good opportunity to play a game, regardless of the rival and everything that surrounds that,” Moreno said. “You don’t if you are going to make it complicated or not, but for me, it’s the same: they are going to make things difficult to us.

“It’s a difficult week and very demanding, but we have to focus on the game at Estadio Municipal de Butarque. Because of the change in coach, we don’t know what to expect."

Although having produced one of their finest performances of the season to record a memorable 1-0 victory over an unbeaten Real Madrid last weekend, Moreno says Los Bermellones cannot afford to lower their level.

“Winning a game helps you continue having faith in what you are doing, but we still have a need for points and they are three points more,” he said. “We are going to try not to have a bad game after a good one, we will head into the game motivated to add more.”
