Vedat Muriqi, Manu Morlanes, Martin Valjent and Jagoba Arrasate analyse the draw with Athletic Club

The players and the boss reflected on our goalless draw

Vedat Muriqi, Manu Morlanes, Martin Valjent and Jagoba Arrasate spoke to the media following our goalless draw with Athletic Club. Find out what the players and the boss had to say below:

Vedat Muriqi:

On the draw: It's a very good point. I just said that I am very proud of my team, my teammates and my people. We really deserved much more. I had a very clear chance at the start of the game, it could have been something different if I put it in. But this is football, you have to work to score those goals and not suffer any more.

On the sending off: It's very easy to talk now but with 11 against 11 we could have done Athletic a lot of damage. To hold out for 70 minutes and get a point is incredible, I'm very proud of the team and my people here who support us for 90 minutes. Thank you very much for everything and let's get back to work.

On teamwork: We have shown that we are a crazy team. In every way: defending, attacking, fighting, battling... head held high and a lot of pride.

On hard work: When the team needs it, I'm there. Let's keep it up, as my teammates are asking for.

Manu Morlanes:

On the draw: It's more than just a draw, because we were a man down and because of the way the game turned out. Once again we have shown once again what we are as a team and what we are in front of our fans. It's a match to cherish against this great team.

On the sending off: In any sport and in any match it conditions, imagine today against this team. Well done to the team and the fans and from here on we will continue to grow and minimise those details.

On the fans: It's amazing, I've been saying that ever since I got here. We feel every game, both at home and away, the support they give us. We grow when we see the atmosphere that is generated and I think that much of the success we have had in recent seasons is thanks to them.

On his performance: I ran a lot, like the whole team, but today is what we had to do. Let's recover and on Friday we'll be back for more.

Jagoba Arrasate:

On the draw: Because of the opponent and the circumstances, it's a good draw. The team did a great job, helped by the fans as well. It's a very valuable point for us.

On the sending off: It's a shame, I have to see the actions because live on the pitch everyone protests for their side. The VAR review took us out of the game a bit, but then we changed our plan and believed until the end.

On changes at half-time: I was mainly looking to help Maffeo when we had one less inside and then to give us legs to attack. He is an expert in that and he helped us.

On the game: We tried to play more on Muriqi to surround him a bit more. We wanted to play more direct.

Martin Valjent:

On feelings: We are satisfied with the work we have done. It's a golden point and it strengthens us a lot as a team.

On teamwork: It wasn't easy with the players they have on the wing. If you want to score when you play 70 minutes with one less player, you have to show a great will to defend collectively.

On attacking: It was very difficult to attack. The truth is that for the first 15 minutes we came into the game very well. Then the game changed completely with the sending off and that's when we changed our mindset and defended practically the whole game.

On his personal feelings: I'm fine but now I'm very tired. The truth is that it is difficult in terms of concentration but you see people who are the same as you or worse, and you keep going until the last second. This speaks a lot about the spirit of this team.
